Goldstein II PGA, Director of Golf In 2024, the Delegate Assembly voted to move their monthly meeting date to the day following the open session of the Master Board. The move could not be executed until this year as meeting space at Sun Lakes is booked a year in advance. In January, the open session Board meeting was Wed., Jan. 28, followed the next day (for the first time) by the Delegate Assembly meeting. Delegates wanted to make the move to better coordinate the monthly f low of regular activities. Events held early in the month were promoted at Delegate assemblies, but often could not be included in District newsletters because the meeting might be scheduled as late as the seventh of the same month. We felt it would assist the f low of information and provide more consistent timing for the preparation and delivery of newsletters. The season of elections has arrived. In January, candidates for election to the Master Board of Directors filed papers with the Administration. The election results will be tabulated and new Board members seated on Thurs., April 9. Next month, the Delegate Assembly will conduct the Meet Your Candidates forum on Wed., March 4 at 4 pm in the Ballroom. It's a chance for you to submit questions for the candidates. A panel of Delegates screens them for appropriateness, then passes the final questions to the moderator for presentation. All candidates answer the same questions, in rotating order. It's a good forum to listen, discern, and decide which candidate's personal meetings you wish to attend. District Delegates also will be elected on April's ballot. If you'd like to become part of the Delegate Assembly, you can pick up a candidate form at the Administration building. The Assembly thrives with people who are engaged with their community and want to work for its improvement. Delegates have a servant's heart, wishing to be informed and help their neighbors. A good Delegate can make a world of difference in your District. They are long-term planners coordinating with others to promote functions designed to connect neighbors and promote the best lifestyles. Consider becoming a Delegate. Your District needs you. ~ Cal Martin From the Delegate Assembly From the Pro Shop
