As volunteers, being humble means recognizing that we are not on a committee to see how important we can become or how much we can inflate our own egos. It's about realizing we are here to see how much of a positive difference we can make in the SLCC community and in the lives of our members. National Wear Red Day is observed in the United States on the first Friday of February. This year it is on the 6th, and raises awareness about the dangers and prevention of heart disease. Put on something red and join friends at one of our venues for a mocktail and a healthy meal. The Sandwedge is the place to be for enjoying the 2026 Winter Olympics, officially the XXV Winter Olympic Games and commonly known as Milano Cortina 2026, an upcoming international multi- sport event. Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from Fri., Feb. 6, to Sun., Feb. 22, with events spread across various venues in the Lombardy and Veneto regions. Milan will host ceremonies and indoor sports like ice hockey or figure skating, and Cortina will be the place for alpine skiing, bobsledding, snowboarding, and other snow events. Try a Bombardino, the Italian snow time cocktail. Super Bowl Sunday takes place every year on the second Sunday of February, the 8th. It is the day of the final game of the National Football League championship. On Fri., Feb. 13, celebrate Galentine's Day. Female friendships are one of the strongest bonds. This day is typically celebrated with a mimosa and a long brunch, perfect for enjoying our Sandwedge Brunch specials. Girlfriends support each other and are great listeners, always there for each other, so it's no wonder this fictional holiday became so popular. Sat., Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, is always outstanding and special. Let's not forget, Tues., Feb. 17, is Lunar New Year, as well as "Fat Tuesday" and Random Acts of Kindness Day … invite a friend to join you in the Sandwedge or Lounge to celebrate one or all the events of the day. In short, you don't need a national special day to enjoy the Restaurants and Lounge here at SLCC. Every day is special.
