| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2026 | 29 REMINDER: Our February event will be Feb. 7 and will feature Jamestown (Sheila and Larry James). We always look forward to their performances! Our January entertainment was Ray Roberson who has an absolutely incredible smooth and sexy voice on his own, but this time he also featured his lovely wife LaWanda along with Bob Palmer. For those of us who can remember, Ray and LaWanda were Bad Inuence in the Lounge for years as one of the absolute favorite groups we had. When they lost their partner and third vocalist, Bob sang with them for a time. ey then joined with Sheila James, who we will see with her husband Larry in February. I always feel lucky to get Ray for us and this time was no exception. Both Ray and LaWanda have family health issues that take them out of the area so a huge thank you to them both. We were treated by several Ray solo's like It's All In e Game and Only Make Believe then Bob sang at's Life and ank e Lord For e Night and LaWanda sang Stagger Lee. It was a wonderful variety for all. A huge thank you to Ray, LaWanda and Bob! e 80s Club is for residents near or over 80 years of age along with their spouses, no matter their age. Remember, we also have some members still in their 70s and we like that, too! We also have many men in attendance which seems to surprise some. Our events are always on the rst Saturday of the month and begin at 3 pm. We start with a brief meeting and announcements, then entertainment with the meals beginning by 3:45 pm. Come once for the price of the meal ($20) to see if you'd like to join and then pay dues ($10) for your second visit. Get your checks to Donna Harrington at 5393 Riviera for our March 7 event by March 1. ere is a box on Donna's front porch labeled 80s Club for your checks. No reservations will be accepted aer the deadline. If you are mailing in your check, we must have it in by the deadline date and make sure your phone number is on the check. Also, please give us the name of any guests you are paying for and bringing. People begin arriving at 2:30 pm at the South Clubhouse to get checked in and get their seats, and the program starts at 3pm. Meals are $20 per person and dues of $10 per person for 2026 are now due if you haven't already paid them.
