24 | THE COLONY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2026 | Our Wine Club had a great 2025, with visits from Temecula Wineries: Wiens, Masia de la Vinya, Maurice Car'rie and Lorimar. Also, some great special events: Chocolate & Wine, two bus tours, Wines from Portugal & Spain, Wines from Down Under, Stone Soul in concert and, of course, Win-A-Wine. The Wine Club has built a fantastic 2026 schedule, which started in January with Somerset Winery, then February's Bubbles and Bites event, and then March's visit from Temecula's Europa Village. The rest of the year is shaping up to be a great blend of local wineries, bus tours and perhaps a concert thrown in there somewhere! So, stay tuned for more information and a great year. Meanwhile, take the opportunity presented by inclement weather to visit our local wineries. Luckily for most of us, weekdays are available for a winery visit. When you combine the lighter traffic of a weekday with the extra light traffic because of some rain or cold … service can be exceptional. There are some great wineries and some great Wine Country restaurants for lunch! Bring a bottle from your visits to the next Wine Club event. If you have questions or would like to join the Wine Club, please call Sharon Evans at 951-445-3861. Wine Club By Tony Harris, 951-401-7877 The Ping Pong Club wrapped up the season with a festive holiday party that brought members and their significant others together for fabulous food, fun, laughter and of course plenty of friendly ping pong competition. We encourage you to come join us in the new year. You don't need any equipment or training to start playing, just a positive spirit and ready to have fun. We play Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 1 to 4 pm in the Auditorium. Ping Pong By Lisa Schrader, 714-814-4543 The Petal Pushers Garden Club will meet on February 24th at 1 pm in the Annex to plan for the 2026 Garden Tour and discuss upcoming trips and programs. As we start planning for our annual Garden Tour, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 2, please consider opening your yard. The success of the tour is having a wide selection of gardens to tour, and hosting is a great way to meet neighbors and share your unique garden design. We are looking for a variety of landscapes, plants and different amenities such as patios, covers, fountains, pavers, lighting, yard art or other unique accents. If you have questions, please attend the meeting and learn more. We will also be discussing upcoming trips and programs. So, be sure to come and give us feedback. The meeting is open to everyone, and we especially hope that all members will be present. For questions, please contact myself at janepayne3@verizon.net or Gloria Brosky at goldenmom2finn@gmail.com.
