| THE COLONY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2026 | 27 The Actors Studio has been very busy, first with our silent auction special event on Jan. 30, along with a catered dinner and impromptu skits with audience participation. We hope that everyone who attended had a fun evening and came away as winners with great items from the auction. We are also working on presenting two productions this spring and summer for your enjoyment. Improv classes will continue every Monday and Wednesday at 6:15 in the Annex. Come one, come all to have a lot of laughs and be surprised at the hidden talent you have discovered! More information about coming events will be listed in upcoming articles. If you have any questions, please contact Greg Hill at 951- 526-9896 or Chuck Gordon at 661-714-3847. Actors Studio By Marsha Tobolski, 562-244-9223 Thank you to all the fabulous ladies who participated in the Mah Jongg holiday party. What a fun time! We saw old friends, made new ones and enjoyed the company of an incredible group of ladies. There were holiday games, lots of prizes and more yummy goodies than we could possibly eat. Of course, what would a Mah Jongg party be without a game or two of Mah Jongg! A big thank you goes to all who helped make the party such a success. Special thanks to Susan Turner for making the lovely decorations that were left up in the Card Room for all to enjoy, and to Taka Ritchie for painting the fun Colony holiday-themed windows at the front of the Card Room. Mah Jongg is seeing a renaissance across all age groups and is quickly becoming "the game" to play in 2026. Articles have stated, in part, "… this is due to the ability to play with friends and the fact that the game is not only fun but also a great way to improve mental skills." If you are interested in learning how to play, please contact Susan Turner at 909-772-2588. She will be happy to set up free sessions to teach you the game, just as she has done for many of us who are currently playing. We look forward to seeing new faces and making new Mah Jongg friends in the coming year. Mah Jongg By Lorie Herrick, 951-795-2604
