"We are more than just golf!" Golf Club We are very lucky to live in a community where there are lots of activities to keep us busy and, hopefully, healthier. One of these is line dancing which offers physical benefits, mental and cognitive benefits, as well as great social benefits. Line dancing is a low impact form of cardio that improves heart health, circulation and lung capacity without stressing our joints. It improves our balance and coordination and that enhances our stability and helps reduce our fall risk. Strength and flexibility is important as we grow older and line dance builds leg, core and overall body strength as it increases muscle tone and keeps our joints mobile. Weight bearing movement has been shown to help increase bone mass and fight osteoporosis and lastly it burns calories and boosts energy levels. Memorizing steps helps our brain health by strengthening our neural pathways, improving memory, focus and pattern recognition. It definitely increases our emotional well-being by releasing endorphins, reducing stress, anxiety and depression by providing a sense of accomplishment and purpose. Dancing has great social benefits. It fosters camaraderie, connection and new friendships. It creates a supportive environment with a shared activity. It helps to build self confidence. We have a wonderful line dancing community here in Four Seasons that meets every Tuesday in the Ballroom. We start at 2 pm with the easiest dances which most people can learn in just a lesson or two. You do not need to have a partner to line dance and both men and women are welcome even if you think you have two left feet. This is a no judgment group. We were all beginners once. After 3 pm we try to do harder dances for those of us who have been dancing longer and are looking for a challenge. We dance to all kinds of music and would love to have you join us. Line Dance Drum Up a Little Love with the DrumHeadz Club February is the month of hearts, and what better way to celebrate than with heart-pounding rhythms? Hand drumming isn't just fun — it's also wonderful for the brain, body, and spirit. Come warm up your hands and your heart with us as we drum up a little love this February. As our club continues to grow, we want everyone to feel welcome — whether you're an experienced drummer or trying it for the very first time. While we will provide six extra drums and a variety of percussion shakers, please note that we also have up to 20 drums available when RSVPs allow, ensuring plenty of instruments for our members. If you'd like to guarantee a drum reserved for you, please RSVP. You can text or call Debbie Foster, (805) 406-6581 or Daune Willahan, (831) 233-0135. Feel free to reach out with any questions! We meet on the first and third Thursdays at 2 pm in the Ballroom. DrumHeadz Drum Circle Club
