30 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2026 | Many thanks to George and Beth Hice, the founders of the Four Seasons Cornhole Club. They had a dream and brought it to fruition, putting together the organization, the layout, and the purchase of equipment. George, a large man with an even larger personality, would yell at us, we would yell back, and Beth would mediate. But we as a group can only appreciate all that George and Beth have contributed to the enjoyment of meeting each week to laugh and play cornhole. They are retiring from the management of the Cornhole Club and will be missed. Cornhole play meets every Wednesday morning at 9 am. During the spring and summer months we meet once a month in the late afternoons for C & C, "cornhole and cocktails." Who plays cornhole? Any person can play cornhole. People say that if you can toss underhand a plastic bag of dog poop 25 feet, you can play corn hole. Those same people will tell you, if you can toss underhand a plastic bag of dog poop 25 feet and hit a two-foot by four-foot wood plank… that is called practicing, and practicing is strictly against the Four Seasons Amateur Code of Conduct. The game of cornhole is a great sport and offers many ancillary benefits, such as: • Hand and eye coordination: you do have to toss a bag underhand to a target 25 feet from you • Balance: again, tossing a bag underhanded requires a balanced base, and at least a pair of flip-flops on your feet • Central core exercise: you need to bend over and pick up the bags • Fork to mouth coordination: compliments hand and eye coordination • Freely swear when things go right (or wrong) • Cool, friendly people: know how to gather and party • No complaining allowed zone • Unlimited pleading • Endless "unbelievable" • Wednesday Bistro breakfast Compete for an hour each session and reap the benefits! Interested in playing cornhole, call Dan Ramos at (503) 860-0547, or Greg/Nancy Wisniewski at (951) 375-9937. Or, send an email to brider2084@gmail.com. Cornhole George and Beth Hice
