| THE COLONY NEWS | MARCH 2026 | 33 What a fabulous Pickleball Tournament we had last month. If you were there, you know exactly what I mean – and if you missed it, you'll want to mark your calendar for the next one. We had an incredible turnout of 24 players. The energy was electric from the very first serve to the final point. Everyone brought their A-game, whether they were seasoned bangers or newer players stepping up to the challenge. The courts were buzzing with friendly competition, laughter, high-fives, and a few epic rallies that had everyone cheering. The weather was absolutely perfect. Clear blue skies, comfortable temperatures, and just the right amount of breeze. Mother Nature basically rolled out the red carpet for us. It felt like the ideal day was custom-made for pickleball. A huge thank you to every player who showed up, competed with gusto and made the day so special. The camaraderie, sportsmanship, and pure fun on display reminded me why we love this sport so much. Here's to more tournaments, more perfect days, and more unforgettable moments together on the courts. See you next time – bring your paddle and your best game! Stay involved. Pickleball By Scott Ross, 310-213-3362 In January, we had a shift in the league team leaders. The standings as of Jan. 29 were: 1st Place - Primavera Kids: Hank & Gloria Fleischer, Jay Schrodrowski, Carol Hitchcock 2nd Place - Stars & Strikes: Tony & Thea Johnson, David Keeling, Grover Long 3rd Place - Hot Shotz: Olivia Perez, Donna Kennedy, Steve Austin, Frank Hattabaugh. We have had some very good bowling scores. For Men, David Polizzi had a nice 220 game, Grover Long had a 200, and Ralph Sanzari had a 194. On the Women's side, Jerry Hanson had 202, Charlene Lusk had a 201, and Jan Schuler had a 175. If you used to bowl in our league and for any reason you now can't, you are welcome to come to our dinners and participate in our left-right-center dice game at the conclusion of dinner. We usually have about 35 people split into two groups of 15 to 17 players, which means for a $3 investment, you could win nearly $50 in a game! If you do want to join us for dinner, please call Hank at the above number by the second week of the month. We would love to see you. Bowling Hank Fleischer, 714-272-3684
