18 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2026 | From Valentine's Day to St. Patrick's Day to spring … we can finally begin making those warm weather plans. I believe it is safe to say that spring will be coming in like a lamb, (since we never really had much of a winter). Enjoying 70 degrees through most of December, January and February makes us all thankful to be living in southern California, and not back east; where I am also sure they got plenty of use from their thick heavy quilts. And to think we quilt to make beautiful wall hangings, and not to bundle up in! Speaking of beautiful wall hangings, above are three selections for spring that certainly warm our hearts. Appropriately named 'Stepping into Spring' (left) by member, Janet Graham for Diane's stunning f lower pots, one seamlessly feels the transition from hearts in February to f lowers in March. Pictured next are 'Windmills of Color' (center) created by Pat Spurgeon. This whimsical design invokes fond memories from childhood of kite f lying across clear blue skies. Utilizing the complexities of applique, Cleta's color choice of a butter yellow background highlight the softness of early spring in her f lowers (right). Thank you, ladies for continuing to inspire us! One Thursday, after a day of quilting, and with sewing machine in tow, I was engaged in conversation by a resident in the Bistro. She knew right away what was tucked into that luggage, complete with all my necessary accessories. Beginning the conversation with, "I need to get out my sewing machine again and come down to spend the day with you all. I miss sewing…" After my heartfelt response of an invitation to "join us anytime" I realized something. We don't just live in a beautiful community, but we live in a "connected to one another" community, where there is always something for everyone. Don't just talk about it, take action, and discover the connection you may be missing. Seasons Quilters meets every Thursday in the Arts & Crafts Room from 10 am to 4 pm breaking for lunch at the Bistro at 12:30 pm. Our March meetings will be the 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. For more information about quilting, activities, fun projects and forming forever friendships, stop by the Arts & Crafts Room and see what's sewing! We would love to meet you.
