FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2026 11
By Regina Farmer
Ready for a blast of trivia and surprises? March is not just any old
ordinary month. It is a lively mix of history, celebrations, and wacky
weather.
Did you know that March is named after Mars, the fierce Roman
god of war? Back in ancient Rome, March (aka "Martius") kicked off
the new year and signaled the start of epic military adventures.
But wait, there is more! March rolls out the red carpet for spring
with the vernal equinox, usually around March 20 or 21. On that
magical day, the world balances day and night in perfect harmony.
Let us not forget, March brings us St. Patrick's Day on March 17. It's
the perfect excuse to wear green, search for lucky clovers, and even
spot a leprechaun with the POT OF GOLD! Plus, March is Women's
History Month, a time to cheer for the incredible achievements of
women past and present.
And here is a quirky proverb: "March comes in like a lion and
goes out like a lamb." From gusty winds to sunny skies and the first
blooming flowers, March is unpredictable, refreshing, and always
memorable. So, did you know all these cool and curious things about
March?
