34 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2026 |
Makula Hula returns to the stage this March with a lively
performance in Travel Capers 2, taking place the first weekend
of the month. Fresh off a private event in February, the group
continues to share its joyful spirit and love of dance throughout the
community.
Made up of a vibrant circle of women who cherish movement,
friendship, and celebration, Makula Hula welcomes anyone looking
to shake off the winter chill. Join us for energizing sessions that will
get your body moving and spirits lifted. No need to perform — just
come enjoy the music, the company, and a little springtime fun.
Anyone interested in learning Hawaiian Hula dancing is welcome
to join the Makula Hula Dancers every Wednesday from 10 am to
12 pm at the North Clubhouse. No previous dance experience is
necessary.
If you are interested in having the Makula Hula Dancers perform
for your event or would like more information, contact Perla
Williams at (951) 467-8339 or pearlyshellsdancer@gmail.com.
Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers
Country Western Dance
Hello dancers! Our Line Dance lessons have been buzzing with energy and high turnout. During each lesson, we
review the dances we learned in previous sessions as well as learn one or two new dances. Our teacher has many years of
experience teaching seniors and is happy to modify steps for members with limited physical abilities. Line dance is an
excellent cardiovascular workout known for its fun factor, not to mention a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and
build social connections. Experienced line dancers and quick learners are welcome to join the club at any time during the
year. Beginners should wait until classes restart in September 2026. Dues are $20 per year and there is a $3 fee per class.
For more information on the club, contact Judy Kirstein at (801) 580-2232 or Lisa Flower at (310) 993-5027.
