Just because it is plastic, it does not mean it can be recycled. We oen talk about what we "do" recycle but let's take a moment and review what we "do not" accept. Batteries, Clorox bottles, cleaning supplies, cooking oil containers, coee cans, creamers, milk, mouthwash, peanuts jars, or bottles with no labels are among these. Remember that for an item to be recycled, you must see the words CA-CRV or CA CASH REFUND imprinted on the container. Glass is another item we do not accept as it poses too much risk to our volunteers. is month's picture shows some of these items that we "do not" accept. Regarding recycling, the Sunshine Club needs your help. We are seeking individuals that can assist with the process of recycling. Before the donations of cans and bottles can be taken to the recycling center we must sort through each bag making sure that the item can indeed be recycled while separating the contents into the dierent categories. We do this every two weeks for an hour and could use some assistance. You do not have to join the club to assist although we would love to have you! Let me say once again how much we appreciate water, tea, and juice bottles, along with aluminum cans. It is your eorts that allow us to send cards to the sick and owers to those grieving the loss of a loved one here in Solera or are recovering from a hospital stay. It even allows us to make donations to local charities which we will announce next month! e Sunshine Club is now meeting on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Please feel free to join us at our next meeting on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 1 to 2 pm in the Arts & Cras Room. Note: is is a new day but the same time and location. If you can help with recycling or have any questions, please contact Diane Coman at (949) 295-1097. | LIFE IN SOLERA | MARCH 2026 | 31 SUNSHINE CLUB Sunshine Helpers Needed! Chronic illnesses, hospitalization, and/or death can hit people hard. If you have a friend or neighbor here in Solera who needs a spark of sunshine, let members of the Sunshine Club know. For your convenience, the yellow Sunshine Box is located on the table in the Mail Room where you can drop off the information for a resident or residents who are sick or have experienced a death in the family.
