30 | OHCC LIVING | MARCH 2026 | Pet Lovers Club In December, we completed our 5th Annual "Presents for Pets" initiative, supporting 36 Meals on Wheels clients. Below is a heartwarming thank-you letter we received from Denise Linder: Hi there and Happy New Year! e holiday pet bags went out the week before Christmas and were a huge success. e clients deeply appreciated them, and we will be sending photos to Ellen shortly. Our volunteers shared that their clients were delighted by such amazing and generous gi bags. We also received several calls at the oce that truly warmed my heart. I am blown away by the generosity of your Pet Club and thank you for the hard work involved in assembling these bags. One client I personally visited started crying when she received her gi; she is on a county program and struggles to aord supplies for her dog and herself. ank you to everyone who contributed. Because of you, these beloved pets had a very special holiday this year! Music Lovers We want to thank all our members who joined us on Valentine's Day last month for our first big music event of 2026. Susan Brainin, Janet Mrvos, and all our volunteers did a great job preparing for and making our event very memorable. This month, we are kicking off the St. Patrick's Day weekend with another music concert not to be missed. The Croome Brothers are an acoustic trio, featuring Patrick and Liam Croome and drummer Brayden Tario. They are a mellow, harmony-driven off shoot of the SoCal Americana band Daring Greatly. Originally from Calgary, the group plays both original music and popular covers influenced by folk, soft rock and grassroots music. We will have a surprise second set with the entire Daring Greatly band performing for your listening and dancing pleasure. Our thanks to Janet Mrvos for getting this band locked in for this event and to new members, Susan and Wayne Vogel for volunteering as hosts. Come on out and be blown away by these award-winning vocalists and musicians. We'll have an Irish coffee bar set up for the St. Patrick's themed event. Bring your own Bailey's or Jamison to add to the coffee and whipped cream being provided. Mark your calendars for March 14 in Abravanel Hall from 6 to 9 pm. Come join the fun. Admission is $19 for members and $24 for non-members. Look for more news at the Clubhouse! Coffee House Mondays continue with our fabulous club musicians in the Greenery. We appreciate your support of our live music each week, 10 am to noon. It's a great way to start your week, enjoying the acoustic sounds and vocals while sipping a "cuppa" with friends. Be on the lookout for Andrea Anderson's emails spreading Music Lovers news each month. And if you want to get involved with any of our upcoming music events, be sure to get in touch with program director, Janet Mrvos. Remember there's lots of great music going on these days at the Clubhouse. Music Lovers is one of several clubs offering music events for your enjoyment and we support them all. As music lovers we want to thank and promote the other OHCC clubs providing entertainment each month. Be sure and be on the lookout for events hosted by Doo Wop, Theater Arts, Let's Dance, OHSPA and more! Lastly, let's celebrate our members having birthdays this month.
