22 | OHCC LIVING | MARCH 2026 | Spring Arts & Cras Fair Coming March 28! To usher in the bright, colorful season, Sue Silva and the OHCC Papercrafting Club are sponsoring the Spring Arts & Crafts Fair on Sat., March 28 from 9 am to 1 pm in Abravanel Hall. The Fair will feature handcrafted items including papercrafts, glass, pottery, photography, wearable art, acrylics, watercolors and more … Local resident artisans as well as non-resident artists will be featured in the annual event. Abravanel Hall provides a comfortable venue in which to shop and enjoy the scope of art provided. Last year's Fair was spacious and full of displays, allowing shoppers to view from all angles before finalizing their purchases. The Fair brings talented artists together with interested residents and guests for a fun, social, and pleasing-to-the- eye experience. Thanks go out to all those who have helped pull this Fair together including its committee — Karin Barnes, Rhonda Anchales, Alison Vincent, Karen Lohr, and Lorraine Kleeman. In addition to the Spring Arts & Crafts Fair, the Papercrafting Club is reintroducing "Scrapbooks and Journals" to its membership on the second Friday of the month during 2026. These crafts are very popular in the world of paper crafts and we are offering this class again. Led by seasoned crafters, Rhonda Anchales and Vicki Greene, they will hold the two-hour sessions each month with a variety of topics, ideas and sharing to the class of scrapbook and journal makers. A full year of creative projects, innovative classes and fun social activities are ahead in 2026 for OHCC Papercrafters. "We are more than just paper and scissors." Written by Lorraine Kleeman Papercrafting Club The Genealogy Interest Group is a growing group of individuals who want to find out about their heritage and their ancestry. Curiosity about those who came before and formed us is important. The group provides tools to do your research and help in getting started. For the experienced we can offer suggestions to break through the brick walls of past generations. Meeting with others researching in the same geographical areas is a great help. We have a few Apple computers and PCs in the computer room. It is helpful if you want to bring your own laptop. We will meet for a Help Sessions on Fri., March 20 at 10 am. Newcomers are welcome. All sessions can be seen on the TAG calendar. We are happy to offer the World Explorer version of Ancestry.com free of charge in the computer room. This program would cost an individual over $100 a month. We also offer the Family Tree Maker on several of the computers in the lab. A family tree can be started and compiled with either or both of these programs with many hints to assist in your research. Coordinators are Dorothy Miller, Shirley Rock and Peggy Singh.
