On May 16, live from Canada, OHSPA will be hosting "Abbamania," an outstanding tribute band that brings the magic of ABBA's music back to life. To be perfectly honest, Abbamania might actually be better than ABBA! Whether you're a lifelong fan or just anxious to hear again their sweet timeless hits like; Fernando, Take a Chance, and Mamma Mia. This concert won't disappoint! Written by Beverly Taylor | OHCC LIVING | MARCH 2026 | 33 ocean Hills Society for the Performing Arts Club W Approximately seven years ago a group of ladies, all of whom had lost their spouses, met at the home of Joann Vinner. The group has since grown to over 100 and meets on the fourth Saturday of the month in Abravanel Hall. They are now called "Club W," and do offer support, but they also offer special events. Every other month, they have lunch at a local restaurant, which gives everyone a chance to socialize and meet new people. At every meeting there is a film, a speaker or some other interaction. This past month, Carol Ann Nakeff was the speaker, she has been a docent in several museums. She spoke on the subject of "Successful American Women Artists," along with slides of their beautiful work. It was inspiring to see how women found their way into what had previously been dominated by men. Carol Ann wears several hats. She is also President of "Club W." Of course, "sweets and coffee" are always served. On March 14, the group is planning a trip to see Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella at Mira Costa College at 2 pm.
