Racquet Club Many residents include pickleball — playing or watching — in their "things to do when family visits" plans. Your guests are welcome to play, but first, here's some essential information about our courts. March 3 is the tentative date for the start of the court resurfacing project. All 11 will get a fresh coat of paint, and Court 4 (tennis) will become a dual-purpose court with lines for two additional pickleball courts overlaid. This will allow us to shift around many of our afternoon pickleball classes and free up courts for games. Courts will be closed on a rotating basis, so stay tuned for eblasts from the HOA (all residents) and the Racquet Club (members and Skedda ID holders) about the closure schedule. We'll build on the excitement of "refreshed" pickleball courts on May 29 - 30 when we have something new and different planned for a combined men's and women's tournament. Last month's Meet & Greet for members gave everyone an opportunity to learn more about 2026 court activities and special events during an afternoon information fair. Three of our Pro Series pickleball instructors answered questions about upcoming lessons, and our sports committees responded to queries about schedules, rules, and the like. We embrace technology for scheduling games and registering for lessons, events, and volunteer opportunities, so Donna Ryan's SignUpGenius table was busy all afternoon, as were David Johnson and Ann Rike who staff the Racquet Club's "virtual" Help Desk and also set residents up to use the Skedda reservation system. Members are reminded that emails are our primary mode of communication to our members and we encourage you to add ohrchelp@gmail.com to your contacts so you don't miss out on time-sensitive announcements. Reservations are recommended. Plan ahead. Pickleball reservations can be made up to seven days in advance. Secure a free Skedda reservation ID, along with the court schedule and rules from the Racquet Club Help Desk at ohrchelp.com. The daily schedule is posted at the courts by 9 am daily, but the most accurate schedule is available online using the free Skedda app. Guest Restrictions: A maximum of four guests per resident may use the courts. The resident must always be present, even if the resident is not playing. Guests may not play during pickleball drop-in (9 – 11 am daily). If the court is open, no reservation is required, but you must surrender the court should a reservation-holder arrive. The front desk has loaner equipment for pickleball and paddle tennis. Wear non-marking court shoes. The Racquet Club Help Desk is the place to contact with questions about our courts.
