24 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2026 | Our April Paint Party will be a very special paint-n-sip dedicated to Charity Week. This event, organized by Janice Rice and Debbie Robbins, is to support the Fun Walk Fundraiser. We will meet Sun., April 19 at 10 am in the South Clubhouse. The theme will be a wagon wheel. The cost for this event is $25, with 60 percent of the proceeds donated toward the Sun Lakes Charity Week Fun Walk. Drink and snacks will be provided. For the May Paint Party, the theme will be blue rain. We will meet on Sat., May 16 at 11 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. We can only seat 15 so make your reservation now. All our paint parties are potluck events. Bring a dish or snack to share, if you can. Other than charity week, your donations are used to buy more supplies. I provide the canvases, brushes, paint supplies, and something to drink. Reservations or sign-up is not needed. It is on a first come, first served basis. So far, we have not had to turn anyone away. To grab your favorite seat or if you come with your friends and want to all sit together, make sure to arrive early. Remember you can log onto Claudia's Paint 'n Sip at Sun Lakes on Facebook to vote for upcoming painting themes and ideas. If you need a link to the Facebook page, text me at (714) 317-2924. Claudia's Paint 'n Sip April is here! I'm excited to work on spring projects. One possibility we are contemplating is an adorable twine-wrapped egg, pictured here. Super cute and so easily achieved. There are many possibilities for customizing your egg to fit into your own décor or personal preference. If you like to craft, or are simply curious about our group, come visit us in the Multipurpose Room at one of our Monday meetings. Our schedule is always listed in this monthly article, so you know when and where to find us. Our meeting dates for April are April 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 1 to 3 pm. The second Monday only, April 13, we will meet from 11 am to 1 pm. We are in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Just follow the laughter and you'll find us. We also enjoy journaling our lives through photos and art, using the vast resources available. Most of us have more than an abundant supply of items with which to create and yet new things are constantly popping up, enticing us to add to our stashes. When we share our handmade cards at the birthday lunches, someone has usually made a card and added some new embellishment which evokes a chorus of "Oh, where did you get that?!" We enjoy a monthly luncheon on the second Thursday of each month at noon in the Restaurant. We celebrate whoever is having a birthday that month. This month's lunch is on April 9. In addition, for the past two years we have added a patio picnic to our social schedule, usually in August. Stay tuned for more information on when that will be. Jan Flammang has taken over the organization of that event. She always has some fun ideas up her sleeves. At year's end, we enjoy a holiday dinner party, planned by different volunteers from our group. It is the highlight of the year and always fun. This year's party will be on Wed., Dec. 2 at 5 pm in the Restaurant. Save the date! The contacts for our group are Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 and Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768.
