For info, call Ardyce Martin at (951) 769-6702. Our Duplicate Bridge Club has been meeting for more than 20 years in Sun Lakes. We currently meet at the North clubhouse every Tuesday at 4:30 pm. We have recently become an American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) sanctioned game, in which you may earn ACBL master points. Our director is Kirk Freyermuth. We welcome you to join us as we enjoy playing bridge together. In order to sign up, access our website at ACBLunit543.com. Then click on "Calendar/Results" in the left column, then click on the Banning/Beaumont club on the calendar date you wish, then sign up for the game. It would be best for you to have a partner, but if you need one please contact us. Please arrive for the game 15 minutes early. Billiards The Sun Lakes Billiards Room hosted a fun and competitive 8-Ball Tournament in February. Ten of the top Sun Lakes players rated five or higher played scotch doubles where players alternate shots, and it becomes essential to set up the next shot for your partner's turn. Partners were selected at random at the start of the tournament and teams faced double elimination on their way to reaching the finals. The winning team receiving the top prize was Louis Evans and Rick Brua who beat the finalists Bill Christensen and Steve Brown. Spring 8-Ball League is halfway through the season, and seven teams continue to battle weekly to make the playoffs in late April. The season will close with a Spring Fiesta for all billiards players on Sun., April 26 at 5 pm in the South Clubhouse. Food and entertainment will be provided by the billiards group and hosted by Pat and Michelle Carter. Billiards is a fun and social way to meet new friends and show off your skills. Players meet Monday through Saturday at 12 noon for social play, except for Thursday, which is league match day.
