62 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2026 The following was written by the discount Artificial Intelligence application CHATcheap, so be aware that you get what you pay for. There was a lot of tennis activity in March, both at The Courts and at the BNP Paribas Tennis Tournament in Indian Wells. Some of the local "home" tennis was our regular playing, such as the Saturday Drills and the end-of-the-month Play Day, as well as several USTA matches that wrapped up the Winter Leagues. A special event that was being planned at the press deadline date was an invitational tournament with our tennis friends from Sun Lakes. This would be reciprocating for the Sun Lakes Tennis Club hosting us on their courts, and it is hoped that we can hold these events on an annual basis. We won't attempt to serve pizza, as that did not work out so well at the first tournament. Another activity to plan for is the Third Annual Racket Paddle Battle trifecta coming up on May 16 and 17. Registration is open until April 25 but sign up as soon as possible because numbers are limited. The cost is $20 per player, and participants have to play all three sports: pickleball, paddle tennis, and tennis. Partners will be rotated and randomly assigned, and scores will be kept individually. Contact Lizzie at ecgallegos@outlook.com to sign up. When you receive the April edition of the Breeze, the BNP tournament will be over and the winners will be counting their substantial prize money: $1,151,380 for the singles champions, while the doubles winners will split $468,200. Many club members attended the matches, especially the cheap ones early in the two-week tournament. We also had club members working long hours as volunteers, including Bev Haller and Lou Stokes. Mike Olson continues to manage the Recycling project, generating significant funding that supports the activities of the club. Look for the email reminders about collection dates, typically every other month. Please watch your Tennis Club emails to see the start times for the Saturday FUNdamental drills and helpful coaching. Regular last-Saturday-of- the-month Play Days will have sign-ins at 8:30 am and play beginning at 9 am, though the start time is subject to change in March. The Tennis Club Committee meets monthly on the last Monday at 4 pm at The Summit. Members are welcome to attend. ~ Steve Hovey (951) 712-5319, sahovey47@ hotmail.com Tennis Club Lou Stokes ushers a mannequin. Iga Swiatek, World Rank #2 Carlos Alcaraz World Rank #1
