FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2026 59 The Four Seasons Pickleball Club brought big energy to the courts in February with its Dinkers & Drivers Tournament, a competition that blended spirited play, community connection, and a shared commitment to a meaningful cause. With spectators cheering from the sidelines and players rotating through matches under clear, but windy, winter skies, the event captured everything that makes our community feel vibrant and close-knit. The tournament also carried a deeper purpose. The club organized a 50/50 raff le to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, inviting players and spectators to contribute. The response was enthusiastic, and the raff le was a highlight — proof that even a lighthearted competition can spark generosity and support for a mission that touches so many lives. The final donation of $530 ref lected the heart of our community: active, engaged, and eager to give back. In true pickleball spirit, the club is tossing the ball to other Four Seasons activity clubs. Who's ready to take on a fundraising challenge of their own? On the courts, the matches were lively from the first serve to the final point. Players showed off quick ref lexes, smart strategy, and plenty of good-natured banter. After several rounds of play, four standout competitors were victorious: Yana Whittinghill, Jimmy Conner, Dave Thomason, and Irma Peterson. Each winner demonstrated consistency, teamwork, and a steady hand at the kitchen line. Their names will be added to the club's list of tournament champions, and their performances set a high bar for future events. Of course, no pickleball gathering is complete without time to relax and refuel. The club provided Jersey Mike's sandwiches for all players, giving everyone a chance to enjoy a well earned lunch. Events like the Dinkers & Drivers Tournament remind us why the Four Seasons Pickleball Club continues to grow. It's not just about the game; it's about movement, camaraderie, and opportunities to come together for something bigger than ourselves. Whether you played, volunteered, or cheered from the sidelines, you helped make the day a success. As the club looks ahead to more tournaments, special events, and social play, community members are encouraged to join in, whether you're a seasoned player or someone curious to pick up a paddle for the first time. The club plays everyday from 7 to 11 am at the pickleball courts with free beginner lessons available Saturday mornings at 8:30 am. Annual club memberships are available for $25. ~ Dyann Miller, dyannmiller@verizon.net I'm excited to announce the launch of our new Gym Club, a Four Seasons community club designed specifically for seniors who are interested in meeting and discussing fitness and healthy living. As someone who values staying active and strong, I've found that working out is even more rewarding when you can connect with others who share the same commitment to wellness. This club is a place where we can come together to exchange workout tips, discuss the latest equipment and techniques, and support each other along our fitness journeys. We'll also host occasional friendly competition events to challenge ourselves, celebrate our progress, and have some fun along the way. Whether you're looking to refine your routine, discover new exercises that work for our age group, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of fellow fitness enthusiasts, this club is for you. Let's build a stronger, healthier community together — one workout at a time.
