April showers may bring May
f lowers, but here in Four Seasons, April
sunshine brings forth camaraderie
and the spirit of gardening. As
we continue to sow together, our
Garden Club is in the early planning
stages of opening of a community
garden in Four Seasons. Working
closely with both Landscaping and
Capital Improvement Committees,
UC Master Gardener, and member
of Late Bloomers, Jonie Kipling is
spearheading this vision for our
Community.
Intended to be a beautiful place to come and sit, relax and
share knowledge about nature, as a team, we will be growing
demonstration gardens, healthy food for nourishment and plants to
bring beauty to our homes. A fun place to gather under the shade of
freshly planted fruit trees, this garden will be where people who love
to garden can work side by side, learning, visiting and cultivating.
In the mutual effort of bringing this vision to reality we are asking
for your input. All residents who are interested in participating
in this garden (in any capacity) please contact Jonie Kipling at
fscommunitygarden1@gmail.com. We would love the opportunity
to answer any questions and discuss
how we can organize this community
kept garden with all who are
interested. We will update the entire
community on the progression of this
vision as tasks are being completed.
Spring is always a busy time for our
Club as we navigate through the many
wonderful places to visit in southern
California. On April 26 we will attend
South Coast Plaza's annual Spring
Flower Show in Costa Mesa, and on
April 29 and 30 we will caravan to
Huntington Library in Pasadena. For this trip, please contact Gene
Hikel at ehikel@msn.com.
All Four Seasons residents are welcome to join us for meetings
and excursions.
Our April meeting will be on Mon., April 13 at 1 pm in the Arts &
Crafts Room.
