Bocce games beginning Seems that bocce players are getting use to the bocce courts after being groomed, for this year's games, some courts still have bumps and grooves but despite the flaws, players did a pretty good job playing their first game in March. We will be watching for players that get a bocce this year and will have a special sheet on our bulletin board to display their names. A very hard list to get onto. A player must throw their ball and touch the small Pollino ball and stay there for that round after all eight playing balls are on the court without getting knocked away. Balls knocked into the Pollino do not count. Good luck to all players. ~ Ross Brunetto, Bocce Chairperson, (951) 926-8295 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2026 | 31 Horseshoes We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. Bocce Billiards Club If you like the game of pool and would like to meet and play like- minded players, please join us in the Billiards Room on Tuesdays from 9 am to 12 noon. The club participates with the Hemet Valley Pool Club; we host and travel to other 55+ communities and have tournaments with other teams. The game of choice is 1-15, it is a form of 8 Ball and it is a lot of fun. We are also interested in enlisting a few more players for our club. If this interests you, please come on out and join us for a morning of billiards. ~ Art Martel, Team Captain, (909) 973-8208 We are a friendly group! If you are interested in learning about tennis and getting started playing, or it's been awhile since you last played, please join us. Folks are on the courts most mornings, 9 am in colder weather and 8 am when it's going to get warm! Tennis Club Evening pickleball playtime will begin at 5 pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings during cooler weather. The pickleball players get together every third Saturday of the month at 5 pm in The Lodge Activity Room and again every third Sunday of the month at 5 pm in The Lodge Activity Room to enjoy a potluck dinner and hone their competitive skills playing the fun board game, Sequence. Pickleball Low Impact Aerobics Can Help Keep Your Brain in Shape From a My Fitness Pal article: "A brisk walk (i.e. aerobics) is more than just a great cardio workout; it benefits the brain, too. According to research published in the journal Neurology, walking increases blood flow to the brain, which can help reduce the risk of cognitive decline. Researchers followed 160 older adults who showed evidence of cognitive decline (but not dementia) and found participating in aerobic exercises for at least 30 minutes three times per week helped improve their cognitive abilities. Walking is a simple, cost-effective way to reduce long-term health risks." Walk Fit Class is a good way to start. The class consists of nine different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" DVDs. The easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. The complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the DVDs incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. New members are always welcome, men and women! Class Schedule is Mon., Wed., and Fri. 7:45 to 8:45 am in The Lodge Ballroom. CLASS IS FREE! For more information, contact Karen Tuvim (316) 260-0847.
