6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2026 | THE HEAT IS ON! The pool has been scrubbed and polished and ready for the beginning of the swimming season. The acid bath that was performed last November was successful. The pool grout was cleaned and repairs were completed. Two of the solar heating units have been replaced and the POOL HEATER HAS BEEN TURNED ON! Now everyone can swim in a comfortably warm pool. What's not to love about that? The lounges, tables and chairs have been inspected for any winter damage. Even though the heat in the spa remained on during the winter, it too was acid washed and cleaned. The tile was inspected in both the pool and the spa for any needed repairs. So now get ready to enjoy exercising, swimming, f loating and even a little splashing because the HEAT IS ON ! A quick reminder: The asphalt paving will begin in mid April. Please check at The Lodge for dates and areas to see if they will affect you. ~ Pamela Hayter, Facilities Committee Facilities Committee April arrives with a refreshing sense of renewal, leading us from winter's chill to the warmth and growth of spring. Blossoming f lowers and vibrant green trees reminds us that now is the perfect time for "spring cleaning" and "new beginnings." All around our community, homes and shared spaces are being revitalized and refreshed. It is the perfect time of year to welcome positive changes and soak in the lively energy that spring brings. However, major substantial new projects can't or shouldn't be done in the way we do spring cleaning. As wonderful and beautiful as our Four Seasons community is today, it's not guaranteed to be that way in the future merely conducting regular maintenance or sprucing up. We must always keep an eye on the future. Time moves fast as we know, so we are wise to plan now for longer term new capital improvements that will keep our community desirable for active adults in the future. To that end, the Capital Improvements Committee (CIC) is responsible for developing and maintaining our community Capital Improvements Plan (CIP). What is a CIP? A CIP is a long-term planning document used by organizations and companies to identify and guide the development of substantial new capital projects and reuse of underutilized or outdated facilities. There is not one "blueprint" for an organizational CIP, as they are meant to be long-lasting ever- changing plans that ref lect the needs and values of the organization at that point in time. As of now, the draft plan for our community will identify potential new improvements along with anticipated project costs. It will be vetted with the community, modified according to that input and then presented to the Board of Directors for approval. The plan is expected to be updated annually, incorporated into the annual budget, and will: • Identify and define desirable new capital projects • Track updated consumer needs and desires for 55+ active adult communities • Improve resident use and enjoyment of community spaces and facilities • Help ensure future community viability and marketability • Protect and enhance our property values Please stay tuned for anticipated community meetings (hopefully this summer) to discuss the initial draft of the CIP. As always, if you would like to provide input to the CIC, please fill out a Resident Communications Form at the front desk in The Lodge. Capital Improvements Committee
