| LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2026 | 25 Solera Bon Appétit Enjoys a "Taste of Ireland" While the familiar sounds of Danny Boy and Molly Malone filled the air, 97 members of Solera Bon Appétit were transported straight to Ireland for a festive and flavorful afternoon. Guests delighted in traditional Irish favorites including hearty cottage pie, savory shepherd's pie, warm soda bread, and a delectable Irish apple cake. And of course, no Irish celebration would be complete without plenty of green beer to keep spirits high! Amid a sea of green attire, President Patty Meinhardt shared interesting insights about classic Irish dishes and the traditions behind them. The room sparkled with St. Patrick's Day cheer — beautifully decorated tables, a festive banner perfect for photo opportunities, and a few playful shenanigans made for a truly memorable celebration. Many lucky attendees "found the gold at the end of the rainbow" by winning raffle prizes, all in support of the club's fundraising efforts. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the wonderful volunteers who prepared the delicious dishes enjoyed by all. Mark your calendars for Fri., April 4 at 1 pm — our next culinary adventure! BON APPETIT CLUB Sweet Shenanigans at the Solera Cookie Decorating Class! The March cookie decorating class was full of shenanigans! Green icing was everywhere — even on a few participants' lips after sneaking a taste while decorating. In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, the class created festive cookies including leprechaun hats, clovers, and frothy beer mugs. Creativity (and laughter) filled the room as everyone put their artistic spin on these delicious treats. We are looking forward to our spring class, which will feature adorable honeybee–themed cookies. The next class is scheduled for Wed., April 15 at 2:30 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room.
