Many people have asked what the difference between casual social bridge is and duplicate. One
big difference is we do not talk while bidding. We use bidding boxes like the one in the picture
and pull out a card to show what we want to bid; therefore, there's no giving clues with your voice.
Duplicate bridge is a competitive, tournament style format where the same hands are played by all
the participants to eliminate luck, allowing scores to be compared based on skill.
We have ongoing FREE classes to learn bridge and to become duplicate players. Some of us are
planning on playing at the ACBL National Bridge event in San Diego Nov. 26 - Dec. 6. Many duplicate
players from across the USA and beyond will be attending. We just finished a session of intermediate
classes. In July and August there will be some classes for brand new players and in September there
will be another review class.
