30 | OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2026 | Music Lovers April has arrived and things are really hopping here at OHCC! Flowers are beginning to bloom, the leaves are returning to trees, and we anticipate the approach of many more days spent outdoors. Our club has had two major events so far and plans are in full swing for more to come. We have photos from our Valentines Day event posted here and in March. Our St. Patrick's Day event was a big hit headlined by the band Daring Greatly, an award-winning local group. We thank everyone who volunteered at and attended these events to support our club. Our Coffee House Monday music has a solid following, and many more passers-by are stopping to enjoy a few tunes before heading on their way to other clubhouse activities. We really appreciate those who come early to attend Chair Yoga so that they can spend that first hour with us. If you haven't had the pleasure, mark your Monday morning calendar for the 10 am to noon time slot and join our music loving audience. Next month CHM music returns to the Palm Court where the sun shines, and the breezes carry the music to those listening at the pool, bocce and pickleball courts. Our membership at this writing has risen to 274. I've no doubt the reported number will be even higher next month after folks take advantage of joining our club to receive the discounted member rate for event attendance. News about upcoming events will be sent out by our president, Andrea Anderson. Please be on the lookout! Lastly, if you know of a band or would like to hear a particular type of music at an upcoming event, be sure to contact our Program director, Janet Mrvos with your recommendations. We encourage our members to step up to host an event of their choice in the upcoming months. If you love music performances and get-togethers, let us know if you can lend us your creativity by heading up a group of friends to transform our venue into something beautiful. In closing I want to recognize our members celebrating birthdays in April. This is the month represented by diamonds, daisies, and ducks along with Aries and Taurus on the zodiac. Our hope is that every guest leaves with new connections — and a stronger sense of community. Getting involved is the quickest way to feel at home at OHCC. Club membership and volunteering open the door to friendships, fun, and shared purpose. We encourage all Newbies to explore our many clubs and discover meaningful ways to contribute. Living in OHCC truly feels like a year-round summer camp — and we're so glad you're here! We are currently seeking Newbies who would like to be interviewed for a future OHCC Living feature.
