FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2026 57
Quilting Enthusiasts
April has come and gone. Are we going to have any rain to bring
us May f lowers? It's a good thing we don't have the old-fashioned
clotheslines in our backyards; if we did our clothes and/or quilts would
be in the next county, or maybe even the next state!
We had fun at our third Thursday Sit' N' Sew in April. Maryellen
Barr was very patient teaching us how to make "Crumb Quilts." It's
sort of easy, but there sure is a lot of cutting, sewing, more cutting, and
more sewing, and so on. We all learned quite a bit and the blending of
the various fabrics took our breath away. Look at the photos at right to
get an idea. One of our members is making a quilt using the technique
she learned, so keep an eye our for a quilt with fish to be featured in one
of the Breeze issues.
Our next meeting is the second Thursday of May, followed by a third
Thursday Sit 'n Sew. A project has not been announced, but there will
be some ladies there to "Sit 'n sew."
Most of the quilters are busy working on their quilts for the upcoming
Quilt Show on Sept. 13, from 10 am to 2 pm, in The Lodge Ballroom.
We will have several tables featuring quilting supplies, quilting books,
magazines (for free), and an outside vendor from Palm Desert so that
attendees can "shop" and enjoy the creativity of the quilting enthusiasts.
Please mark your calendars now for the Quilt Show and invite your
quilting friends and family to attend. For more information, contact
