Last month, our community took an important step forward with the launch of a major street repair project — an eort that, while temporarily disruptive, reects a deep commitment to the future of our neighborhood. For many residents, the experience meant adjusting daily routines: navigating around heavy equipment, relocating vehicles, and enduring the lingering scent of fresh asphalt — a mixture of crushed stone, sand, gravel, and bitumen, a sticky byproduct of petroleum. ese inconveniences were real, but they serve as a visible reminder that meaningful progress oen requires short-term sacrice. Behind the scenes, this project represents years of thoughtful planning. e Board of Directors, working closely with the Facilities Committee and our sta, has carefully developed a long- range strategy to maintain and preserve one of our community's most vital assets — our streets. is is not a small or inexpensive undertaking. It requires disciplined budgeting, careful prioritization, and a shared commitment to making decisions that benet both current residents and future homeowners. Streets, like all infrastructure, inevitably wear down over time. Sun exposure, weather uctuations, and daily trac gradually take their toll, leading to cracks, potholes, and uneven surfaces. What may begin as a small imperfection can quickly grow into a larger problem. A single crack can allow water to penetrate beneath the surface, weakening the foundation and accelerating deterioration. Le unaddressed, these minor issues can evolve into costly repairs or even full reconstruction. By acting now, we not only protect the structural integrity of our roads but also extend their lifespan, saving our community signicant expense in the long run. Equally important is the impact our streets have on the character of our neighborhood. ey are among the rst things people notice — whether it's a guest visiting for the rst time or a prospective buyer considering making this community their home. Smooth, well-maintained streets convey pride, care, and attention to detail. ey enhance curb appeal, strengthen property values, and reect the shared stewardship that makes our neighborhood a place we are proud to call home. Projects of this scale are never easy. ey test our patience and require exibility, but they also demonstrate what we can accomplish when we invest in our community's future. Every repaved street, every repaired surface, is a step toward preserving the quality, safety, and beauty of the place we all value. We extend our sincere appreciation to every resident for your patience, cooperation, and understanding during this initial phase. Your willingness to adapt and support this eort has made a meaningful dierence. As we look ahead, the next phase of asphalt repair is scheduled to begin next April. Together, we will continue this important work — strengthening not just our streets, but the foundation of our community for years to come. Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2026 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Rick Adkins, Paul Barr, Fred Kydd, Cli Post, Mary Reyna, and Dan Ramos, Barbra Balser, President
