| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2026 | 9 About the Special Benets Area e Legends homes within our Four Seasons Community are part of what is called the Special Benets Area (SBA). If you live in this area, you pay $40 per month more on your HOA fee. For this amount, your front yard water is paid, and irrigation, new plants, and maintenance is done by Harvest, the landscaping company under contract with our HOA. Since Harvest takes care of your front yard, there are things that you shouldn't do because it interferes with the work that Harvest needs to do: 1. Please do not water any area in your front yard. Your entire front yard is on a special watering system. If you see an area that looks like it needs water, please call e Lodge and let them know. Harvest will come and investigate to see if the watering system needs adjustment. Likewise, if you see too much water puddling in your front yard, please call e Lodge so they can let Harvest know. 2. Please do not prune your shrubs. at is Harvest's job. 3. Please do not install any permanent plants in your front or back yard. If there is an area that you think looks empty, please call e Lodge. Harvest will come and see what is needed. You may plant annuals or add plants in pots to add color to your home. Your courtyard is your responsibility. ose who live outside of the Legends community are entirely responsible for both front and back yards. Please remember to get approval from our Architectural Review Committee before making changes. Coming Soon… e East Legends homes will be experiencing turf removal and new landscape design within the next few months. Watch for the spring SBA newsletter for updates and additional information. See Something at Needs Fixing? e more eyes we have on the lookout in the community, the better. If you see broken irrigation, ooded areas, or dead/dying plants, please take a photo and email it to Maria Donti: maria.donti@fsresidential.com. Landscape Committee Library Committee My goodness, it's May! Time seems to go faster when you're getting older. No matter how fast, your Four Seasons Library will always be waiting for you. Book donations are being received frequently from residents (perhaps even you!); come see what's "new" (2017 and newer) on the shelves. To accommodate these "new" books, your volunteer Four Seasons Library Committee has requested funding consideration for two more bookcases. Another reason for additional shelving space is that we're now trying to leave the existing bottom shelves empty. Too many residents can no longer reach/get down to the bottom shelves of books… then get back up again! We know that facing so many books in so many dierent categories can seem daunting. Your committee members are here to help you navigate the library's many collections. One way that helps is by sharing book reviews. Lynne Spreen, committee member and resident author, is sharing her review of Dark Angel by John Sandford this month. Lynne writes, "I love reading and writing romance and women's ction, but Sandford's Minnesota crimeghters are the exception! is book is in our library's hardback ction section: with Dark Angel, John Sandford delivers another fast, entertaining thriller, this one featuring Letty Davenport, the adopted daughter of legendary investigator Lucas Davenport. Working for a US senator in Washington, Letty's ocial job is politics — but her real role is far more dangerous. As tensions rise before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, she's sent west to inltrate a rogue group of hackers with Rod Baxter, an NSA analyst who couldn't be more dierent from her." "Rod is brilliant but anxious, obsessive, and hilariously risk- averse; Letty, posing as his girlfriend, is there to keep him alive. eir sharp, oen funny banter becomes one of the book's biggest pleasures as their uneasy partnership slowly grows into genuine friendship." "Sandford packs the story with colorful characters, clever investigative twists, and nonstop action. Letty's hunting skills — clearly inherited from her adoptive father — shine throughout, but the novel's real strength lies in its character growth. Rod evolves from a frightened outsider into someone braver and more condent, while Letty discovers an unexpected circle of allies: a formidable group of women who are as deadly as they are loyal. Smart, tense, and surprisingly warm, this thriller proves Sandford is still raising the bar." I can say that I intend to read this book aer this glowing review. anks, Lynne! ~ Betty Crase
