Bocce fun is not over yet; not all teams made the playo game scheduled for May 3 but all teams made the Awards and BBQ scheduled for Sun., May 17 at 4 pm. is year we are changing things up by having a BBQ with hamburgers and hot dogs and dierent salads with everything provided, except we plan to have a dessert bar. All teams that are participating will bring two desserts since most teams are couples, this makes it easy. If you are on a team with four or ve players, you can decide to all go halves with the other players. If you plan on bringing a guest, you must RSVP so we know how much food needs to be ordered. More information will be given before the bocce season is over. anks for a great season this year. ~ Ross Brunetto, Bocce Chairperson, (951) 926-8295 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2026 | 31 Horseshoes We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. ere is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at dierent locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. Bocce Billiards Club If you like the game of pool and would like to meet and play like-minded players, please join us in the Billiards Room on Tuesdays from 9 am to 12 noon. e club participates with the Hemet Valley Pool Club; we host and travel to other 55+ communities and have tournaments with other teams. e game of choice is 1-15, it is a form of 8 Ball and it is a lot of fun. We are also interested in enlisting a few more players for our club. If you are interested in learning about tennis and getting started playing, or it's been awhile since you last played, please join us. Folks are on the courts most mornings, 9 am in colder weather and 8 am when it's going to get warm! Tennis Club Evening pickleball playtime will begin at 5 pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings during cooler weather. e pickleball players get together every third Saturday of the month at 5 pm in e Lodge Activity Room and again every third Sunday of the month at 5 pm in e Lodge Activity Room to enjoy a potluck dinner and hone their competitive skills playing the fun board game, Sequence. Pickleball Walking Can Keep Your Brain in Shape - From a My Fitness Pal article: "Exercise can help increase brain volume and blood ow, which appear to have an impact on the executive functions of the brain, including attention span, focus and memory. More active or physically t individuals perform better on tasks involving executive functioning compared to sedentary ones." Walk Fit Class is a good way to start. e class consists of nine dierent Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" DVDs. e easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. e complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the DVDs incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try.
