18 | OHCC LIVING | MAY 2026 | May is a great time of year in the community, with longer days, warmer weather, and more opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities and time with neighbors. It also marks the unocial start of summer programming as we prepare for a busy and active season ahead. Sta are excited to begin a new scal year, and the budget is in a strong position. ere are several priority items the Recreation Department is addressing. Based on valuable resident feedback, ve new poker tables will be installed in the coming weeks to replace outdated and damaged tables. e Billiards Room tables, now approximately three years overdue, are scheduled to be resurfaced at the end of April, with work potentially extending into May. is project will not impact room usage. Additionally, the department is adding new table tennis equipment to support increased participation. Funds are also being allocated this month for additional Clubhouse storage to better support daily activities, classes, and programs. Special thanks to Rich from the CSC and Julie from the Recreation Department for their assistance with the storage project. A big thank you to all residents who took the time to complete the Fitness Studio & Cardio Room Survey. e results will be shared with the Community Service Committee, which will provide recommendations for potential improvements to the Board of Directors. e 1st Annual OHCC March Madness Shooting Challenge took place on Fri., April 3. Congratulations to this year's champion, Mike S. e Annual Eggstravaganza was held on Sat., April 4. is was a successful and well-attended community event. ank you to Julie Van Dam and Recreation sta for their eorts in organizing a memorable day for residents and their families. It is great to see the wide variety of oerings from OHCC Clubs. e Swim and Wellness Club continues to provide valuable programming to the community, including free swimming lessons. Summer Pool: e Recreation Department is preparing for a busy summer season. Guest wristbands will again be issued for 2026. Wristbands will be available for pick-up during Taco Tuesday, on May 5, near the Lanai area. Wristbands will be available at the front desk beginning Mon., May 11. Wristbands will be required for all guests starting Memorial Day Weekend (May 23) through Labor Day (Sept. 7). May also brings several opportunities to gather and connect as a community, especially around Mother's Day and Memorial Day Weekend. ese moments oen bring friends and family together and serve as a reminder of the strong sense of community we share here at Ocean Hills.
