It's the Invasion of Superheroes!
Following the amazing Doo Wop St. Patrick's Day
Party in March and the Groovy 60s party in April,
get ready for the Superheroes-themed dance on May
8.
While costumes are optional, we're sure to see
Captain Marvel, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, and
the Scarlet Witch, along with other famous characters from the
Marvel Comics multiverse, dancing in Abravanel Hall.
Back by popular demand, the four-piece Smokin' Guns Band
has been booked to bring rockin' sounds to the dance oor. Dan
Ervin is on guitar; Michael Dana Carson is on guitar and lead
vocals; Jay Jardine on Bass; and Rick Crisostomo on drums. e
Guns focus on classic rock of the 60s and 70s.
Marvel has endured for 85 years, with characters reecting
changing themes and times, including war, romance, horror,
Westerns, social issues and diversied narratives. With such
a wide range of characters, just about any costume will do for
the dance party.
If you haven't purchased your tickets, there's still time. Just
go to the front desk, make a payment by check, ll out the
registration form and reserve your spot. It's only $19 for Doo
Wop members and $24 for guests.
Doors open at 5:30 pm and the band starts at 6 pm. e
band will be playing until 9 pm for your dancing and listening
