22 | OHCC LIVING | MAY 2026 | Spring Arts and Cras Fair 2026 It was a colorful and social event for residents and friends admiring the array of handmade arts and cras on exhibit in the OHCC Abravanel Hall on March 28, from 9 am to 1 pm. ere were 17 vendors who displayed beautifully handmade framed art and innovative cras including jewelry, papercras, hand-sewn fabric items, photography, creative glass creations, wreaths and custom make-up analysis. Papercraing Club members participating included Rhonda Anchales, Kathy Moskovitz and Vicki Dibble. Rhonda featured her elaborate and creative paper journals, greeting cards, beaded keychains, pens, bookmarks and retractable ID badges. She displayed fancy beaded wands to add to indoor and outdoor planters. Kathy wowed attendees with her beautifully hand-sewn microwave bowl cozies, hanging dish towels and blankets along with handmade dichroic glass jewelry. Vicki featured a variety of mobile phone shoulder purses and larger purses in many dierent fabrics as well as her handmade coasters and frog and lion stued animals, always popular items. A wide selection of greeting cards was also featured in her display. It takes many hours, a solid team and creative participants to make an Arts and Cras Fair successful. A huge thank you goes to Sue Silva, whose sponsorship helped bring this year's Spring Arts and Cras Fair to life. Also thank you to the fair committee of Rhonda Anchales, Lorraine Kleeman, Karen Lohr, Alison Vincent and Club President, Karin Barnes — the heart and soul of the Spring Arts and Cras Fair for the past eight years. And last but not least, a big shout out to our post Fair team, Kerry and Pat Peyton, and Tess Anchales. Curiosity about those who came before and formed us is important. e group provides tools to do your research and help in getting started. For the experience we can oer suggestions to break through the brick walls of past generations. Meeting with others researching in the same geographical areas is a great help. We have a few Apple computers and PCs in the computer room. It is helpful if you want to bring your own laptop. We will meet for a Help Session on Sat., May 16 at 10 am. Newcomers are welcome. We are happy to oer the World Explorer version of Ancestry. com free of charge in the computer room. is program would cost an individual over $100 a month. We also oer the Family Tree Maker on several of the computers in the lab. A family tree can be started and compiled with either or both of these programs with many hints to assist in your research.
