e RV Club has been ushering in spring with some wonderful events. One of our rst adventures was a Camping trip at the San Mateo campground at San Onofre State Beach in Orange County. e trip started with a sunset happy hour and dinner with great stories and friendship building. e next day was highlighted by an "Amazing Race" game, with everyone participating and having a fantastic time and of course, was followed by a celebratory pizza party. On the third day, the Sailing Club joined us in Dana Point, where 75 of us climbed aboard Captain Dave's Whale Safari Cruise for a spectacular day of whale watching. e weather was as great as the adventure was and what a wonderful opportunity for both clubs to spend time together. A big thank you to Trip Masters Tatis & Lawrence Aiken and Dave & Ilene Ramgren, for organizing such a memorable trip! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful opportunities such a short distance away. Our next adventure was a day trip right here in our own backyard at the San Diego Botanic Gardens in Encinitas. We were led on a docent tour by Mo, Mike and Randy, sharing their 37-acre urban oasis featuring four miles of meandering trails and ocean views, 5,000+ plant species and varieties, and 29 uniquely themed gardens that represent 15 dierent regions and many habitats of the world. And of course, you can't have an RV Club event without food being included, so it was o to nearby Fox Point Farms and Harvest Market for a yummy and healthy lunch which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Next up was camping at the Dockweiler RV Campground in Playa Del Rey, California with plenty of biking and hiking opportunities. e trip included docent-led tours of the Getty Villa near Malibu and Nethercutt Museum in Selmar. en it was o to visit the unusual and sometimes strange sights of Venice Beach, the Santa Monica pier and of course the canals. As summer approaches, our annual Happy Hour party in the Palm Court will be on June 9 and our annual dinner dance party on the Lanai will be on July 21. In August we travel to Paso Robles and Monterey, California for a unique camping adventure, wine tasting and dining of course. Adventure awaits you, come explore beyond your horizons and join the fun as an RV'er or WOW (With Out Wheels). Just remember, the only trip you will regret is the one you haven't taken.
