Racquet Club Our rescheduled General Membership meeting is Wed., May 20, from 4 to 5:30 pm at the Lanai. Court resurfacing was the main focus from March through early April, requiring us to shue players and locations for nearly ve weeks. While everyone has their favorite courts and times, residents were consistently cooperative and understanding as we adjusted schedules and implemented temporary rules. Pickleball and tennis remained available daily at various venues, but paddle tennis was closed for 11 days during the HOA courts closure. A special thank-you to Dave Johnson and Ann Rike for managing the complex scheduling and communications throughout this period. What Residents Should Know About the Courts Now: • Fresh new look: Courts now feature a blue-and-green color scheme, with the pickleball kitchen painted sandstone. • Footwear matters: Only non-marking court shoes are allowed. Black scu marks come from improper footwear. • Court 4 is dual-striped: It is lined for tennis and two pickleball courts (blue lines). Two portable pickleball nets remain on Court 4 and can be rolled out to create Courts 4A and 4B. Tennis reservations have a three-day booking priority over pickleball if made ten days ahead. A tennis reservation for Court 4 blocks out 4A and 4B, and vice versa. • Food and drink: No food is allowed on the courts. Water is the only permitted beverage. All four venues have patios where eating and drinking are welcome. • Pickleballs: Players must bring their own; ball tubes have been removed. • Reservations: Our free reservation app, Skedda, is the only source for real-time court availability. A general daily schedule is posted on bulletin boards and the club website, but for accurate, up-to-the-minute information, residents must use the Skedda app on a smartphone or computer. Any resident may request a Reservation ID from the Help Desk. e app is required to make reservations. • Basketball hoop and hitting board: ese amenities on Court 4 cannot be reserved and may only be used when the court is unoccupied. Upcoming Event: Our May 29-30, Double Double Pickleball event is more than just a tournament. It promises a vibrant, festival-like atmosphere. All Racquet Club members can enjoy a variety of activities between matches: food oerings, vendor booths, and social gatherings on the Racquet Club lawn. Leading the creative vision are volunteers Teresa Randolph and Christi O'Connor, along with board members John Gildner and Felicity Swerdlow. eir collective energy and input are shaping what is expected to become a signature Racquet Club event. Members are encouraged to sign up to be part of this exciting new tradition — as players, volunteers, or enthusiastic spectators.
