8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2026 | As has been reported over the last several months, the Capital Improvements Committee (CIC) alongwith our interior designer, Kristen Bradshaw, has been working on an updated interior decor design palette for The Lodge and spa building. This overall design palette is to be used over time with phased interior updates to achieve a consistent design upgrade as we rapidly approach our 25-year anniversary. Based upon input from the community and various HOA committee representatives, the CIC recommended the "Renewed Villa" palette. It was an overwhelming choice after the community workshops earlier this year and approved by the Board at their April meeting. The "Renewed Villa" palette was particularly favored as it incorporates the following design principles: • Use of warm earth tone colors and textures • Integrates well with the existing architectural style • Use of classic timeless designs, colors and materials • Closest to the current Lodge décor but obviously updated where needed • Fixtures and furnishings are warm, classy and comfortable, not commercial • Carpet is an updated pattern that avoids a "casino style" feel or geometric angles and lines Although the overall design palette was approved, that's just the initial step. The first phase of this multiyear project is the Ballroom, with the final project scope and budget to be determined. The CIC is now actively working on doing just that. The base elements of the Ballroom phase are expected to include new carpet, paint, light fixtures, window shades, drapes, cabinetry, and artwork. Subject to Board approval, a final recommended project scope, budget and construction schedule will be to the Board in September/October with construction in late January through February. After the Ballroom is completed, future phases will be determined over time with separate phases, project scopes and budgets to be developed as directed by the Board and subject to their final approval. Capital Improvements Committee "Renewed Villa" Design Palette - Ballroom (Please Note – Colors and Scale are not exact replicas in digital print format) We Would Like You to Join the Facilities Committee It's been about a year since my last Herald article, and from the title you can probably guess where this one is headed. My wife and I moved here eight years ago, and I've been on the Facilities Committee for the past six. I'll be turning 85 in July, so it's time for someone to replace me — on the committee, that is! We will probably need two new members, so I'd like to explain a little about what the job involves. I picked up a Committee Volunteer Form to review exactly how the Facilities responsibilities are described, and here's the gist of it. What the Facilities Committee Does Monthly Inspections: Committee members conduct monthly inspections of our community facilities. Twice a year, you and another member will do a more thorough walk-through using a checklist of specific items in different areas of the community. At the next meeting, you'll review what you found and discuss any issues. Maintenance Review: We're fortunate to have Tim Gross in Facilities Maintenance. At each meeting, Tim reviews what has been completed and what work orders are still pending. Many of these come from our inspections or from homeowner suggestions. It's helpful to see how things move from identifying a problem to getting it fixed. Bids, Proposals, and Repairs: We also assist management in reviewing bids and proposals. A good example is the ongoing Ballroom renovation. It began simply with replacing the carpet. We reviewed three contractor bids and selected one. Then the idea came up to refresh the overall look of the room. With input from the Capital Improvement Committee, an interior designer was brought in. The project is still in progress, but it's a good example of how something small can grow into a larger improvement for everyone to enjoy. If you're interested, applications are available at the front desk at the Lodge. Just fill one out and turn it in. On a personal note, I would especially encourage more women to consider applying. Different perspectives and ideas make any committee stronger, and that would certainly be true for Facilities. I've enjoyed my time on the committee and would love to see it continue with new energy and new voices. Facilities Committee
