10 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | JUNE 2026
By Clare Mendez, Resident
Planning for Camino Hidalgo's Neighborhood Watch Party began
back in February. Block Captain Bill Norton held a short kick-off
meeting attended by some of Camino Hidalgo's residents, where the
date and menu for the annual Neighborhood Watch potluck was set.
Bill sent out an invitation to everyone on the street and kept us all
updated on attendees and food contributions. Residents pitched
in by bringing tables, coolers, canopies, and food. There was an
impressive spread of Jersey Mike's sandwiches, potluck dishes, and
desserts to choose from. Helen Baker opened with a heartfelt prayer
of gratitude.
We're fortunate to live at Solera, and more specifically, on Camino
Hidalgo, among such wonderful neighbors. We're not just exchanging
quick hellos at the mailbox, we look out for one another, check in
on health concerns, and offer help when it's needed. I hope Camino
Hidalgo's annual outing inspires you to gather your neighbors and
spend some quality time together.
The Neighborhood Watch program works best when you
communicate with your neighbors. Even if you don't have a block
captain, you can still call on your neighbors and alert them when you
see something or someone suspicious lurking around.
