24 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2026 | Our last paint party, which was a girl in a red dress was so much fun. We were in the Multipurpose Room which was different but we might not do that again. For our July paint party, the theme will be water lilies. I will post at least six pictures on the Claudia's Paint n Sip on Facebook with plenty of time to vote. If you do not have Facebook, text me at (714) 317-2924, I can send you the images and will accept your vote by text as well. We will meet on Sun., July 5 at 2 pm at the South Clubhouse. This party is open to everyone. No reservations needed, just come on in. This is a potluck event. Bring a dish to share. Cost for paint supplies is $20 per person. I will provide all the supplies needed along with water and a little sip. Please arrive on time. Please visit Claudia's Paint N Sip at Sun Lakes to view and vote for the next paint idea. These events are super fun. It's a great place for you and your friends to do something creative together, and also a great way to make new friends! Claudia's Paint 'n Sip Fiber Artists We are ladies committed to knitting, crocheting, needlepoint or anything else to do with yarn. We meet every Monday at 12:30 pm in the North Clubhouse except on the third Monday of the month when we meet at 11:30 am. On the second Monday, we redistribute our leftover yarns and supplies to each other. On the last Monday of the month we share a potluck lunch. All are welcome; there are no dues, just bring yourself and a project. Be sure to visit the display case next to the Ballroom doors in the Main Clubhouse. We change it monthly so there is always something new. For information, call Carol at (404) 245-6939 or Diane at (801) 367-5999. The name of our group should really be just Crafting or Crafters because we do so many different things other than paper crafting. Some of us knit or crochet, some sew or embroider, and still others paint with watercolors or acrylics. At times, there are those who seem to just be social members who only show up at our meetings with nothing but a desire to socialize. Maybe they used to scrapbook but have grown tired of that. It's a chance to get out of the house and mingle with others. Some of our members only join us at our monthly birthday lunches, which is fine. We all love to eat! Often, a member of our group will switch gears and take on a completely new project. As creatives, we're always in search of learning new skills. I was recently looking for a new challenge, something I could take to class to work on. My first new find lasted about 10 days. The only thing it did was frustrate me and it quickly went into the trash. It definitely was not for me. I continued my quest for something else new and fun. While out shopping soon after, I came across Fabric Collage, a process I had never thought of. Since I possess a large stash of fabric, I purchased a beginner kit and immediately fell in love with this new activity. I quickly finished the first kit and I'm now on to my second one. My point here is that you never know what the next fun undertaking will be, and the search itself provides so much enjoyment. If you find yourself tiring of the same old craft, go exploring! Many in our group are constantly starting new projects to work on and enjoy sharing their latest ventures. We meet on Mondays in the Multi-purpose Room of the Main Clubhouse from 1 to 3 pm. The second Monday only, we meet from 11 am to 1 pm in the same location. July meeting dates are July 6, 13, 20, and 27. We gather for a monthly birthday lunch on the second Thursday at noon in the Restaurant. This month's lunch takes place on July 9. If you have any questions, please call or text Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768. Happy Birthday, America! Be sure to get out and enjoy all that will be going on this Fourth of July! Paper Crafting
