Musically we can go back to the early days of our country and nd songs that celebrate our heritage or patriotic heartfelt songs. e rst published American patriotic song was written in 1768. Sun Lakes Country Club has its own Barbershop Chorus that meets every Wednesday morning in the Multipurpose Room from 9 to 11 am. The sheet music and audio-learning materials are furnished to help even the novice enjoy the experience. You can sing in this men's chorus or enjoy a quartet experience with three other guys. We all have a song in our heart waiting to be expressed. Come visit us and sing along. Enjoy coffee and a donut at the break! Barbershop Chorus Chorale The Chorale is now on hiatus for the summer, coming together on Sat., Aug. 15 for a potluck picnic at the South Clubhouse to get reacquainted. Rehearsals begin on Mon., Sept. 7 for our Annual Holiday Concert Series. Watch for specific information in the coming issues of Lifestyles. The Chorale has five sections: Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, Basses, and Baritones. Practice sessions are held on Mondays from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Prior to each concert, sectional practices for individual sections are held on Thursday mornings in the Bus Room. The Chorale is open to all Sun Lakes residents.
