| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2026 | 53 If you've been struggling with your weight, you are not alone and you don't have to do it alone. TOPS (Take O Pounds Sensibly) is a friendly, aordable support group where people come together to learn practical tools, build healthier habits, and keep going even when life gets messy. At TOPS CA2461, we focus on progress, not perfection — and we're creating a community where you can show up exactly as you are. Our June theme was "Close the Door: Small Decisions, Big Freedom." Each week we chose one "door" to close, a habit or pattern that trips us up, and one "door" to open instead. We tackled stress eating with a simple check-in tool called HALT: H — Am I Hungry? A — Am I Angry or Anxious? L — Am I Lonely? T — Am I Tired? at one pause can turn an impulse into a choice. We also explored sleep, sharing honest reections and practical ideas like a wind-down routine, parking the phone, and setting a caeine cut-o. Better rest supports better choices. A big round of applause for our members who lost weight this month: Liz Chambers, Edith Hasha, Jerry Dye, Ann Oliver, Catt Fishman, and Bruce Dills — way to go! And a heartfelt thank-you to our KOPS members who continue to maintain their goal weight month aer month: Peggy Andrews, Jim Greet, Judy Martin, Carol McKinney, Suzanne Straust, and Rosalee Strong — you inspire us all! July continues the same supportive structure: one weekly topic, one practical tool, one small commitment, all in a warm, encouraging environment. A few of the "doors" we'll be closing: e summer slide opening the door to a simple, steady rhythm Vacation without a plan opening the door to a travel routine that supports you Special occasion becomes special week opening the door to celebration and self-care Comparison opening the door to self-focus and pride If you've ever said, "I know what to do, I just can't stick with it," TOPS is a place to practice sticking with it — together. You don't need to be ready. You don't need to be perfect. You just need to be willing to take one small step. TOPS CA2461 welcomes new members, and we'd love to meet you.
