60 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2026 | The Executive Men's Golf Club has had a very busy month of May and July is starting to be active as well … four tournaments, a quarterly member meeting and lunch, local rules changes, and a reduction in membership fee for members joining July 1 through Oct. 30. Not to mention four members recognized for holes-in-one. On May 22 we held a Pick Your Partner 4-Man Scramble. The winners in the two f lights were Flight A low gross (48) – Joe Ganino, Charlie Mullen, Mario Zavala, and Larry Rice. First low net (45.5) for f light A – Jack McElwain, George Thiel, Steve Chung, an KiBong Cho. Second net (45.6) – Michael Kort, Steve Schwartz, and Bob Walter Flight B low gross (52) – Ed Concialdi, David Amar, Victor La Brecque, and Kris Terrell. First low net (41.9) for f light B – Michael Schaeffer, Ridgely Harris, Richard Johnson, and Ken Clark. Second low net (45.7) – Leon Fiske, David Machado, Art Campuzano, and Bob Buchanan. On May 29, the Club's May Quarterly Individual Stroke / Eclectic was held on the Executive Course. Three f lights were assigned to the 49 playing members. First low gross winners were Terry Johnson (62), Kris Terrell (60), and Ridgely Harris (69) respectively in f lights A, B, and C. Second low gross winners – Mike Long (64), Victor La Brecque (69), and Stephen Kadolph (76). First through fourth net winners in Flight A – Ed Concialdi (59), Ray Vanyo (60*), Larry Rice (60*), and Mario Zavala (61). Flight B – Jack McElwain (58), William Zollars (60), David Amar (62*), and Ron Berglund (62*). Flight C – John Kelley (60), Bob Buchanan (62), Michael Volz (63*), and Ken Johnson (63*). In the event of ties, a scorecard playoff determines player finish. There are two tournaments scheduled for July. The annual EMGC / LEGS Combined Scramble will be held on Tues., July 14 followed by an all-American lunch hosted by the Executive Men's Golf Club in the North Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Additionally, our Club Championship will be played over two days on Wed., July 22 and Fri., July 24. Members qualify for the championship by posting eight (8) Friday rounds played. Tournament rounds are not counted. Two of our members received their Hole-in-One trophies at the May Quarterly Member meeting. Two additional members also got a Holes-in-One this year – Dale Bowring on May 15 and Ridgely Harris on May 22. May is a good month for Ridgely he got very first hole-in-one on May 30, 2025, and his second hole-in-one on May 22, 2026. They will receive their trophies at the Aug. 28 Quarterly meeting. Come join us. Effective July 1st, membership fee for the Executive Men's Golf Club will be reduced to $15 for new members. We play on the Executive Course every Friday and we are open to all male residents of Sun Lakes Country Club.
