The Restaurant & Lounge Advisory Committee works closely with our members to present recommendations and suggestions to the Master Board. July brings numerous holidays and events! This month kicks off with a big celebration: our 250th anniversary, also known as the Semiquincentennial. It's 250 years of freedom, marking the birth of our Nation. July 4th, also called Independence Day, features parades, picnics, and fireworks. Come celebrate America's birthday with us here at Sun Lakes. This is my favorite holiday — Independence Day. Since July 4, 1776, when the Declaration of Independence was adopted, the U.S. declared its freedom from Great Britain. John Adams predicted it would be celebrated with pomp, parades, bonfires, and fireworks from coast to coast, and he was right. At SLCC, our American pride is evident. Our annual parade features themed golf carts and vintage cars. You can enjoy your favorite morning cocktail or mocktail along with our famous breakfast burrito. After the parade, enjoy the ceremonial music and events, then indulge in Sun Lakes' All-American BBQ — hamburgers, hot dogs with all the trimmings, and sides. Bring the grandkids for face painting, jugglers, music, and more. Our Veranda is the perfect spot to try one of our talented Mixologist Angels' July cocktails — like the Star-Spangled Martini, Red White & Blue Sparkler, or SLCC Fireworks Spritzer for Fire Ball fans. Enjoy weekend entertainment and try something new. Of course, you can also select from our Veranda Hors D'oeuvres menu, which has been receiving rave reviews. July is packed with sports excitement: the FIFA World Cup Final and MLB All-Star Game will dominate the sports scene.
