58 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2026 | Ladies Executive Golf We are excited to reveal our new club logo (at left) and say thanks to Tuck, one of our club pros, for creating it. Summer has finally arrived, and we moved our check-in to 8 am, with tee-off at 8:30 am. We play nine holes of golf each Tuesday on the Executive Course located on the north side of Sun Lakes. We have at least two weeks each month for open play. It allows you to sign up with your close group of friends, and sign-ups are available until check-in. Once a month, we have mixed play, where you are paired into a foursome. This month, we'll play three clubs and a putter. It takes your game to a new level deciding on club selections. The fee for this game is $5. On the third Tuesday, we meet at the South Clubhouse for our general meeting/ luncheon. We discuss pertinent club information, distribute monies won, and enjoy lunch. On June 2, we celebrated Women's Golf Day. Linda Spaulding shared information about this international event. She also provided breakfast pastries and juices. In addition, we had prize drawings. Are you interested in joining LEGS? Please get in touch with our Membership Chairperson, Jane Terlion, at (412) 736-0072. Our fee is $25 per year. Saturday Morning Golf Can you have too much fun? John and Judy Jones (at right) dressed for our Cinco De Mayo dinner! There's plenty of time to join us before our August dinner and meeting which will proceed our championship tournaments. We are a mixed group of men and women of all different handicaps and abilities who play Saturday morning on the Executive Course. We have monthly tournaments on the second Saturday of the month but every week our game is $5 for closest to the pin, circle holes, and whatever else we can think of to take your money. If you're interested, please contact Michael Volz at (818) 310-1950. Golf is addicting in many ways. First and foremost, it is a day in the sunshine with friends and who doesn't love that? Added to that is we're trying to play an imperfect game perfectly. Of course that's never gonna happen, but we keep on trying. Golf is the only game we play where low score counts. It keeps us coming back again and again, and it, in itself becomes a lifestyle, especially here in Sun Lakes. And the Sun Lakes Men's Golf Club is here to enhance and elevate that lifestyle. Joining the Men's Club opens up a whole new level and diversity to your game and addiction. Now with Charity week and the official start of summer behind us, the Fourth of July is upon us along with consistently beautiful Sun Lakes weather with warm mornings and extended evenings. It's a perfect time for golf. The golf course is looking fantastic and playing great thanks to Mark, Guillermo and all the Golf Course Maintenance crew. We will miss Guillermo as he will be retiring on July 12. He has been a vital part of our golf experience and constant steward of our golf courses. Thanks so much Guillermo for your years of great service. Events not to miss in July: July 1: Red, White and Blue Tournament. Come on out and have fun alternating tees. July 8: Beef and Brew is back! Come on out for a no tournament 8 am shotgun with hot dogs and drinks after. It's a great time to meet new people. July 18: Pinehurst Tournament. Two-man pick your partner. July 29: President's Cup Round One begins. This is a mandatory start date for all participants in this tournament. Just like calling your mother, mowing the lawn, or washing your car, as a golfer, joining the Men's Club is one of those nagging things in the back of your mind that you feel you should do but keep putting it off. Why not check it off your list this week? Join the club! It will enhance your life, introduce you to new friends and different aspects of golf. It will elevate your lifestyle and make your addiction make perfect sense. Men's Golf
