THE CREATIVE SPOTLIGHT: A TRIBUTE TO JAMES "JIM" HITT By Carrie Allen Some lives shine with a multifaceted brilliance, touching those around them with wisdom, creativity, and boundless generosity. Jim Hitt was such a soul-a true Renaissance man whose passion for knowledge, the arts, and teaching enriched not only his own life, but also the lives of all those who knew him. For many, he was a trusted 'phone-a-friend', mentor, and guiding star. His intellect and curiosity knew no boundaries. As a teacher, he inspired others to seek knowledge, to think deeply, and to embrace learning as a lifelong pursuit. He delighted in sharing the wonders of history, science, philosophy, and literature, never content with mere facts but always searching for meaning and connection. The arts were his playground, and he moved through them with reverence and joy. Whether discussing a classic film, composing a piece of writing, or explaining a new artistic technique, his enthusiasm was contagious. When he was writing, working on photography and film, he did thorough research and practiced until he was proficient. He taught others to appreciate the beauty of the world, both in its grand expressions and its quiet subtleties. His own creative works in writing, his reflections, his art, left a legacy that continues to inspire and uplift. Jim passed on his love of the arts to students, friends and family not only through words and pictures, but by living it every day. | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2026 | 25 Four Seasons Creative Group Royce Jerman offers "Painting Pals" on Tuesdays 10 am to 1 pm and "Beading Buddies" on Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm in the Lodge.
