This is the perspective
of the artist of the month,
Brenda Knopp. "I joined
the Mixed Media Art class
just over six months ago.
I'm really enjoying my
time drawing, painting, and learning watercolor
techniques because I love the soness of this media.
"I decided to paint the lovely windmills I recently
saw in Mykonos, Greece. While sightseeing there,
I learned that these structures were built by the
Venetians in the 16th century. ey were originally
used for grinding grain and have now become an
iconic landmark of the islands. I chose this picture to
capture the scenic beauty of Greece, while enjoying
a wonderful lunch that had us overlooking the
windmills, ocean, and in the distance, our cruise
ship. is painting is especially meaning ful to me
because it turned out to be the last trip I took with
my recently-deceased husband."
Classes are held on Mondays and Fridays from 10
am to 12 noon in the Arts & Crafts Room. There is
