FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2026 67 On June 1, we started our summer season with play outdoors at The Courts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 12 pm. Wednesdays have been designated for "Advanced Play" and members wishing to participate on that day have to demonstrate proficiency in a variety of volleyball skills. This summer, for the first time ever, we will continue our indoor play at The Summit on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Tuesdays from 11 am to 1 pm have been set aside for developing players. The first hour of play we will be practicing various volleyball skills and the second hour we will play games, but with no spiking or hard hitting. Thursday is evening volleyball from 6 to 8 pm. We secured this new time to encourage those of you who still work to give water volleyball a try. On Thursday, June 4, the club provided hot dogs and chips for a little pre-game social event. Saturday is for general indoor play from 10 am to 12 pm. So, in conclusion, during the summer you have the opportunity to play water volleyball six days a week, with certain days set aside for players of various skill levels. So, no excuses, come out and give it a go. Water volleyball is a great way to get out of the house for some low impact exercise. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a member of the club to play, and all ages, heights and skill levels can participate! The rugged terrain, wide- open desert scenery and unexpected Chuckwalla lizard sighting made for a pleasant day on the trail, along with abundant sunshine, sweeping views, and plenty of dust along the way. With virtually no shade to be found for a comfortable lunch stop, our group decided to wait for the drive home where we pulled into the TA truck stop so that the four- legged adventurers tagging along could stretch out and enjoy the nice grassy area. To top off the day, we made a stop at Hadley's Fruit Orchards for a well-earned date shake before heading home after another fantastic desert run. If you enjoy adventure, come join us! Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in the RCN Conference Room, and we usually schedule an outing for Thursday of the same week. ~ Scott D.
