The Jewish Cultural Club is a gathering for Jews and those
interested in learning about the traditions and celebrations of
Jewish people. There are major holidays that may be familiar to
many non-Jews such as Chanukah and Passover. There are lesser
known celebrations like Purim and Sukkos. There is the Sabbath
for Jews, which is sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.
July is going to be a very exciting month for our residents.
Sponsored by the Jewish Cultural Club there will be a traditional
Sabbath dinner on Friday, July 10 at 5 pm at The Courts. The first
25 residents to contact Toni Finer at (818) 518-5360 will get to
participate in a wonderful potluck meal. If you bring a dish, the
event is free to you. If you just want to enjoy the food and fellowship
and learn a little about our Sabbath, then it's $5. When you call
Toni, she will ask you what you would like to bring. Don't miss this
lovely event.
Also on Sunday, July 12, the club is going to show e Story of
the Jews, the first in a five-part movie in our Theater. It's a very
interesting history. The story will continue on July 26, Aug. 9, Aug.
23, and Sept. 13. Tickets are $1 per person for the entire series. First
come, first seated. The Theater only holds 30 people, so come early.
The show starts at 2 pm.
These events are open to everyone. ~ Toni Finer
