| OHCC LIVING | JULY 2026 | 11 AV Committee - Illuminating Our Stage! We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our OHCC audiovisual (AV) lighting crew. No prior experience? No problem! If you are curious to learn and love being a behind-the-scenes part of live performances, we will fully train you to: • Operate spotlights to smoothly track performers across the stage. • Program and run our state-of-the-art lighting console to support shows and concerts. • Use our "short throw projector" to project digital scenery, special effects slides, and videos for enhanced visuals. Other things to know: • The venue for our lighting crew is upstairs in the booth in AB Hall. • You will be able to sign up in advance for the gigs you choose to support. • The lighting crew works closely with directors, stage managers, and our audio and video volunteers to make the magic happen. We are a fun team and have the best seats in the house! Come join us! To learn more or arrange training, please email: AvboothOHCC@ gmail.com. Written by Kathy Whitten audiovisual (AV) lighting crew. No prior experience? AV volunteers Gordon Jones, Courtney Simsom, and Nick Novellinos lighting the Spring Chorale Concert "Our Landscape Committee operates under a structured policy that prioritizes tree preservation and environmental benefits, viewing tree removal strictly as a last resort. Because the community values its mature canopy for cooling effects, energy reduction, and community ambiance, our HOA enforces strict rules regarding how trees are managed, trimmed, and removed." "Homeowners are prohibited from personally pruning, topping, or cutting down any trees located in common areas, including branches or roots." These two previous statements are direct quotes from our policies on the OHCC website. If you should see one of our revered trees that, in your opinion, needs help, please complete a work order, available online or at the HOA office. Your work order can be submitted to Kathy Guzman, Director of Landscaping, at the HOA office. The Landscape Committee, a group of volunteers, who are your neighbors, will be involved in getting your request taken care of. For complex structural inspections, the Landscape Committee will bring in a certified arborist to inspect health and canopy integrity. Simpler requests can be decided in a more timely manner by the Landscape Committee. By Peggy Goodman Landscape Committee
