Summer Is Near: Progress and What's Ahead: With summer just around the corner, our community has even more opportunities to enjoy the many activities it offers. With that new warmer weather and summer comes the annual visits from kids and grandkids giving us the opportunity to be good hosts, parents, and grandparents. Our Community Celebrated Our Nation's 250th Anniversary rough Music: The Ocean Hills Choral Society delivered a wonderful Memorial Day performance, "Let Freedom Ring," in honor of our nation's 250th anniversary. Under the direction of Beverly Taylor, the group performed seven songs, four sing-a-longs, and individual armed forces salutes after months of preparation. It was a memorable event, and I hope many of you were able to attend. Lake Project Update: The lake is now being filled, and we expect to begin using well water soon to irrigate the golf course. The well pump can deliver more than 500 gallons of water per minute. We remind everyone that this equipment and the lake are to be respected and to treat it as a construction site to stay clear of. As this project is nearing completion, we will prepare a written report on the golf course, lake, and well project. It will summarize what we learned, what went well, what could have been done better, and the project's total costs. This summary will be used as a guide for future projects. COX High-Speed Internet Negotiations: The Board continues to work diligently to bring high-speed internet service to the community. Our attorney has completed the review of COX's proposed contract, and we have submitted our version for their review. We hope to have the agreement signed by early July. Our goal is to finalize a new agreement soon. As part of the updated contract, residents can expect changes to monthly fees by September, along with a reduction or possible elimination of current COX charges. We will share more information as negotiations continue. For those following this process closely, the other fiber-optic company some residents had been considering, SIFI, has filed for bankruptcy with debts of up to 100 million dollars. Board Election and New General Manager: We have eight candidates running for three Board positions. I encourage all residents to learn about the candidates and take part thoughtfully in the election process. The Master Board has been working with Keystone to select a new general manager. We expect to welcome a new GM by July, and I encourage everyone to help make that person feel at home in our community. Father's Day Appreciation: We celebrated Father's Day in June. I would like to thank all fathers for the love, guidance, and dedication you have given over the years. Your inf luence has shaped families, strengthened our community, and touched generations in meaningful ways. Strategic Planning Initiatives: The Master Board has identified five key improvement goals as part of its ongoing strategic planning efforts. We look forward to sharing more details with the community in the coming weeks as these initiatives take shape. One of these goals is a more responsive work order system, which has already been introduced and continues to evolve. I have heard from some of you that you appreciate receiving confirmation when a work order is submitted, as well as updates on its progress. As always, your Master Board remains actively engaged and committed to supporting and improving our community.
