10 FOUR SEASONS TERRA LAGO ROADRUNNER | AUGUST 2026
By Tim O'Neil
e Hands Behind the Grain…
Working with my father at an early age, wood became a focused
interest. In my early adult years, I opened a furniture store selling
upscale furniture. Solid wood furniture and real aniline died
leathers.
Now aer retirement my studio is based in Southern California
where I transform raw salvaged timber and woods from around
the world into objects of tactile signicance. I utilize both
traditional tools and modern turning techniques. Each piece of
wood is a dialogue between the lathe and the soul of the grain and
individually made by hand. My work is not merely turned, it is
uncovered, honoring the slow growth of woods from around the
world. e wood gains a new life for future generations.
I hope you will make the drive down to the event located at the
other end of the parking lot from the Sawdust event. e event
runs through Sept. 6 and is located at 935 Laguna Canyon Road
in Laguna Beach. Visit https://www.foapom.com/for more info.
